Synthetic blocking agent for latex particle
Blockmaster™ DB1130 is developed as surface blocking agents of latex particles. It can well suppress the unspecific binding of latex to enhance the stabiliy of colloid. The unique water-soluble polymer with the proper balance of hydrophobic unit and hydrophilic unit proposed by JSR can be used as a replacement of BSA.

The flow of blocking with Blockmaster™ DB1130
The hydrophobic segement to hydrophilic segement ratio of Blockmaster™ DB1130 was modified to the best condition, so it can adsorb to the surface of covalently coupled latex beads to prevent the adsorption of substances that is not related to the immunoreaction and suppress the unspecific aggregation of latex.

Application
Colloidal stability
Latex blocked with Blockmaster™ DB1130 shows the equivalent colloidal stability to the one with BSA blocking, and the precipitation will not be occurred even with long-term storage.
Dose-response curves and lot-to-lot consistency
For the polyclonal antibody diagnostics, three batch of Blockmaster™ DB1130 was used for blocking, and the result shows that the quality is stable between different lots.

Latex beads conjugated with monoclonal antibodies were treated with BSA or Blockmaster™ DB1130 and it was confirmed that the two treatment shows equivalent result.

Application in CLEIA; Dose-response curves and Correlation test of 31 specimens
The kit treated with Blockmaster™ DB1130 shows equivlent result to the kit with BSA blocking. Furthermore, 31 clinical samples are used for the correlation study. The result shows that two kinds of kits show good correlation.
