Fully synthetic physical adsorption type blocking agent
Blockmaster™ PA series is a physical adsorption type blocking agent which is fully chemical synthetic and can be used in a wide variety of applications. The unique water-soluble polymer with the proper balance of hydrophobic unit and hydrophilic unit proposed by JSR can prevent the adsorption of proteins or cells for microplate or petri dish made with different material.

In the following table, the decreasing rate of protein (IgG) adsorption to various materials after Blockmaster™ or BSA treatment was calculated based on the one without any treatment. Blockmaster™ PA1080 shows very good performance in blocking for a wide variety of substrate material and effectively preventing the adsorption of protein.

Applications
Prevention of protein adsorption to various substrates
The amount of protein (IgG) adsorption was measured by adding the protein solution to polystyrene microplate which was treated with Blockmaster™ PA1080 or BSA and washed. The result shows that Blockmaster™ PA1080 can effectively prevent the adsorption of protein to the surface of polystyrene substrate.
Prevention of Cells adsorption
Using Blockmaster™ PA1080 for cell culture plate treatment can effectively prevent the adsorption of cell to the surface of substrate.
Effect of Blockmaster™ PA1080 on cells
The flollowing data shows that comparing with regular culture, the effect of PA1080 to cell survival rate and cytotoxicity. The results shows that even the addition amount was up to the 1% which is same with the product will not affect the survival rate or cytotoxicity.
