MBL’s Commitment to AAV-based gene therapy

MBL has provided diagnostic reagents for rare diseases, such as autoimmune diseases. Contribution to the development of diagnostics in this disease area is one of our primary missions. In recent years, for the treatment of various rare diseases, gene therapy has been widely developed. One of the most common materials used in gene therapy is the Adeno-Associated Viral (AAV) vectors. Test to aid the selection of patients having the preexisting anti-AAV antibodies are commonly used as the Companion Diagnostics (CDx) for the therapeutics using AAV vector. In MBL’s CDx service, we support development and launch of the diagnostic reagents to detect anti-AAV antibodies.
This way, MBL aims to contribute to human health and medical advancement in this disease area as a diagnostic company.

Why MBL as a partner of choice

Since its inception, we have been engaged in in-house R&D, marketing, manufacturing, sales and post-sales follow-ups. Leveraging our wide experience both in RUO and IVD field, we can offer the research use anti-AAV antibody detection kits and the CDx service for AAV-based gene therapy.

Our experience with Companion Diagnostics (CDx) for AAV-based therapy

We have launched MEBCDX™ AAV9 test kit in 2020. The MEBCDX™ AAV9 test kit was developed as a CDx to be used as an aid in selecting anti-AAV9 antibody-negative SMA patients for treatment with onasemnogene abeparvovec.
