| Background | "Product description: Glycoprotein Iba is part of the platelet receptor Glycoprotein Ib-XI-V complex. The Glycoprotein Ib-XI-V complex mediates binding of platelets to sites of vascular damage. This product consists of residues 17-306 of glycoprotein Iba and contains the binding sites for Von Willebrand Factor, thrombin and botrocetin. The two N-linked glycoslation sites , Asn37 and Asn175, have been removed by mutation to glutamine. Residues 17-306 of human GpIbα were cloned, the protein was over-expressed in HEK293EBNA1 cells and was purified to homogeneity. The tyrosine residues at positions 292, 294 and 295 are sulfated. The calculated molecular weight of recombinant human GpIbα, residues 17-306, is 33.5 kDa and it contains an C-terminal hexahistidine tag. Reference sequences: Swiss-prot P07359" |
