Background Angiotensin Converting Enzyme(ACE; アンジオテンシン変換酵素)は、Angiotensin I を活性体であるAngiotensin IIに変換することによって血圧を制御する触 媒酵素であり、細胞膜上に存在するタンパク質である。ACEには全身の細胞に広く発現するsomatic ACE(sACE)と、限られた組織にのみ発現するgerminal ACE(gACE)が存在し、gACEは精巣に発現していることが知られている。本モノクローナル抗体(クローン 1D5は、マウス精巣のACE(testicular ACE)を抗原として作製された。Testis-specific isozymeであるtACEは、未成熟精子細胞と成熟した精子の両方に発現していて、受精の際に精子の透明帯結合に関わる分子の一つである。 Calmegin、ADAM1、ADMA2、ADAM3とともにノックアウトすると透明帯に結合できなくなることが知られている。
